There can never be continuity of life in the absence of water. Without it plant will not grow which will also affect the growth of animal and as well affect human being.

Here, we are going to discuss the usefulness of water in food, diet,  nutrition as well as our health well-being in general. Water may not be regarded as food but for every food eaten it’s should be taken in other to obtain maximum benefits from the food.

Water is indispensable though it has no micro-nutrients and calories. Water should be drank regularly to aid digestion, absorption and elimination of waste materials.  However, mere drinking of water can eliminate some defects in our body.

For instance, in case of indigestion water is required for good digestion and proper movement of bowels in the body. Water should be drank very early in the morning everyday to maintain the activity of the internal body. A person that drinks water everyday will fall sick less often.

Water should be taken regularly so as to reduce the body pH which therefore avoid in the invasion of various diseases. We should all cultivate the habit of drinking plenty of water after a meal for it eliminate the incidence of indigestion and reduce flatulence and constipation to a very minimal level provided other condition remains constant (conditions are stated in previous post).

Water on its own can prevent and cure osteoporosis, arthritis, high level of cholesterol, brain damage, Cancer, skin health, loosing weight e.t.c.

For everything we ingest, there is an advantage and disadvantage. Sometimes the disadvantages surpasses the advantage. But in the case of water it has a lot of advantages and few precautions. One of the precaution is that it should not be drank alongside foods which means eating and at the same time also drinking because it can cause indigestion problems.

Water should be taken after meal and a very portable one should be taken. A portable water means the one that is chemically, micro-biologically and physically certified.

Please note: Consume little of cold water because it causes a lot of health hazard when it’s in excess. It causes cold, flu, Pneumonia and other diseases.
