Milk as we all know can be vividly defined as the lacteal secretion from the mammary gland of all mammals which is practically free from colostrum. It can be extracted from all mammals but the milk extracted in different mammals varies in nutritional qualities.
Milk we consume in everyday life is gotten from cow and cows used for this operation are specific. Cow milk is advisable because of its odorless nature and its high protein content. Goat milk is known to contain the highest protein content but cannot be consumed by everybody because of its odour which is quite offensive.
Most of us consume any type of milk without even considering our health and its effect on us. Milks are of different types and it’s consumed by different type’s people depending of individual health status.
TYPES OF MILK.
We have various types of milk but we are talking about just three for now which are;
1.Skimmed Milk: This can be defined as the type of milk in which the fat has been removed and replaced with nothing. This type of milk is consumed by obese patients
2.Filled Milk: This can be defined as milk in which the fat has been removed and replaced with vegetable oil.
3.Full cream Milk: This can be defined as milk in which the fat has not been tampered with. This type of milk has been processed like that. It is known to contain high level of fat.
Milk as we all know are being consumed by both young and old but few of do not know that it is mostly useful in infants because they have rennin which breaks the milk protein down for easy utilisation.
Milk is regarded as food because it provides nourishment and it also contains all the nutrients. These nutrients may be in small quantity but is sufficient for the body. Nutrients in milk is easily utilised by the body because it is in a liquid form.
However, for some people it causes indigestion problems because of the nature of their body, this happens mainly when milk is consumed late at night before going to bed while in some people it does not.
Now, we are going to talk about the content of milk that makes it a whole food that can be consumed by both old and young.
